Hi guys, I’m Guinevere and am new here! There isn’t that much to say about me, only the fact that I’m really passionate about television and mostly dramas. Oh yes, and I live in Belgium. I always throw that tiny fact in any conversation, because I really want people to know how awesome Belgium and Belgian people really are. Haha that being said, let’s get down to business.

Last Resort has been on my pilot-radar from the start  and the ambitious new show surely didn’t disappoint. With outstanding performances and a compelling storyline, this military drama could be one of the breakout hits of this fall. The only minor downside is that horrible time slot, it could be tricky for Last Resort to pull in good ratings while battling The Big Bang Theory and Two And A Half Men. So far, the story should be enough to lure in the people who had enough of those CBS comedies!

I was really excited when I found out that Yahoo TV was releasing the full pilot early. Unfortunately this version is only available for US-viewers, but I’m sure you’ll find a way to watch it yourselves.

There are a couple of actors who truly excelled in this pilot, especially Andre Braugher and Scott Speedman. I was fairly confident that Braugher would excel and boy, he did. The speech at the end was a great mix of crazy behaviour and superb acting. Sometimes in a pilot everything is being carried by that one great actor, this didn’t happen here. Sure Braugher delivered a great performance but I haven’t found anyone who served as the weak link. Maybe that one actor that played Karofski in Glee, but he’s dead. So that doesn’t really matter anymore.

This was a very solid pilot, storywise. It made me even more excited and raised a couple of questions, which is a problem with a couple of the newer shows. The bigger theme is obviously honour and duty, which each one of them showcased in a different matter. From questioning where the missile order came from, to killing one of your fellow marines for the greater good. The conspiracy is really intriguing, and kept me on my toes. They’ve made sure that the viewer would be invested in the different relationships and they succeeded.

I know what you’re thinking. ‘Ew a military drama, that couldn’t possible be something for me!’ Well I beg to differ, while the main plot is obviously about the USS Colorado and it’s crew members. The submarine isn’t its biggest selling point for me, the intriguing storyline sold this show for me and will also do the same for the majority of the viewers. So yes, you should definitely watch this show!

Last Resort premieres September 27 on ABC!

When Guinevere isn’t surrounded by Dickens or is desperately trying to improve her Spanish, she can be found in front of her laptop which is transformed into a small silver screen. There is no greater pleasure than being lured into an action-packed Arrow, or a heartwrenching The Newsroom. Her softspot is the pilot-territory, with Upfronts being her favorite time of the year (with Comic-con closing in). Unfortunately, she might have to wait a couple of years until she actually makes it to Comic-con, the trip to San Diego would be a little bit pricy from Belgium. (Yeah that’s in Europe.)

This answer is maybe too late, but yes I kept watching. Too bad that this kind of show isn’t appreciated on regular network tv..
