Now that Mario left two weeks ago, the most arrogant quote of the night went to Ryan Murphy himself, when he says “At this point, the only people who should move forward are the people I feel honestly have a chance to win.”  Did I emphasize the “I” enough in that quote? I get that he’s the executive producer and all, but if I was one of the other mentors, it would have made me think, “Why am I even here?” I also understand that the competition repeats songs from the show to save legal costs at the expense of the show’s

Every year, ‘The Men Tell All’ frustrates me to no end. If I ran things at ABC, I’d move the finale to Week 10, and lump TMTA and After the Final Rose into one special. That being said, it’s always an entertaining night. I don’t know how Kalon managed to fit his foot in his mouth with those huge fake teeth, but he did. He tried to apologize for his actions in London, but it blew up in his face when Emily revealed that she saw a snarky post directed at her on Kalon’s twitter. At the beginning of the

Despite promising to stay “just friends,” Charlie and Aylin’s romance heated up this week. I guess she just couldn’t resist the Cory Montieth look-alike. In this episode we saw them not only hold hands and kiss, but duke it out in front of Ryan Murphy this week. The homework assignment was “Now That We Found Love,” which they performed for Jane Lynch. I totally didn’t see this song choice coming and I thought the performance was fabulous. They made me laugh my head off the entire time. Lily won the homework assignment, and Aylin was a disappointed close second. The

If Emily thought this week was hard, the final rose is going to absolutely kill her. I’d like to save my dissection of the rose ceremony and the final rose promo until the end, so let’s dive into the dates. Part of Sean’s downfall may have been the fact that he had the first date of the week. Just like Chris last week, he was the least fresh in her mind, but he also held back his feelings the most. As sweet as his letter to Ricky and his video were, he ultimately couldn’t express himself well enough for Emily

While scanning Oxygen’s website for photos to add to my posts, I could have sworn they were using the same photos each week for Robert Ulrich’s visits to the contestant house. Take a look:   Week 3: Vulnerability Week 4: Sexuality Week 5: Adaptability I’ve come to the conclusion that he just buys a lot of similar shirts and the BTS photographers really suck.

Kevin McHale guest mentored this week’s Glee Project,  and if you haven’t realized it already, he’s taken great measures to adapt to his role as Artie Abrams on Glee. Yes, he probably knows how to use a wheelchair pretty well by now, but I’m sure it wasn’t easy at first. After revealing that the contestants would perform Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know” as solos, he picks Aylin as the homework winner. This was far less creepy than when Nellie was picked by Cory Montieth, I’m not sure why. Their video assignment for the week was “Price Tag” by Jessie J, but the contestants

Hometown dates are always excruciatingly painful to watch. It’s rare that a family is ever completely nasty to the Bachelor(ette), and it almost always leaves the episode’s cast off thinking, “Why didn’t you like my family?” Though all the families were nice to Emily this week, I still have my favorites. Let’s discuss. In Chicago, Chris’ family was really cute. I’m not a fan of accents from other countries, but I love different American accents, and his mom definitely had that Midwestern inflection to her voice. However, I feel like they weren’t very memorable. Chris also has a habit of

Again, with the repeats, Glee Project! “Do you ever read my blog? It’s gotten better.” That’s only one of many Barney Stinson quotes that are relevant to this show’s shortcomings. This week’s mentor was Naya Rivera, the obvious pick for the theme ‘Sexuality.’ Their homework assignment was “I Wanna Sex You Up,” a repeated song which is no longer sexy to me because of Stephen Tobolowsky’s inclusion in its performance on Glee. However, the fact that they didn’t use the “I know you’re not gonna sing that song” part greatly diminished my already negative opinion of the TGP performance. This

This week on The Bachelorette was so intense! We started the trip to Prague with a one-on-one for my favorite contestant, Arie, who hadn’t told Emily about his former relationship with Cassie, a producer on the show. They don’t say for sure when Cassie tells Emily about Arie, but it seemed to me that it happened right before their date, or else she would have brought it up to him earlier. I’m also disappointed that the three of them had their big conversation about it off camera, but it’s their business, and most producers have the jobs they have because they

I think Charlie nailed it when he remarked about how hard it is to act vulnerable to a pounding beat. I’d like to remark about how hard it is to like The Glee Project when they keep repeating songs. Then Robert tells the contestants that this week’s guest mentor wrote the book on vulnerability. Puh-lease. Cory Montieth’s character was the captain and quarterback of the football team, dated the head cheerleader and a rising star, and co-captained the glee club to a national championship. Vulnerability my butt. I also think it feels just a little creepy when a male guest

I think someone must have made a comment on Emily’s catch phrase(Thank you, sir), because I didn’t hear it at all this week. I definitely predicted that Emily would send Travis home. They were super cute on their date, just too country bumpkins having fun, but of course, there was no spark. I cried a little inside when he tossed his umbrella aside, and I really hope he finds love. I loved seeing the guys in kilts, but was a little shocked that Chris got the rose. I understand he had the most fun with the competition, but I don’t

It never fails, Ryan Murphy gets more and more arrogant with every episode of The Glee Project. And for crap’s sake, choose some songs that haven’t been used on Glee! These kids are never going to measure up to professionals this early in their careers. Moving on, I was sad to see Taryn go and super happy Dani got kicked off. I said it once, and I’ll say it again. Dani is incredibly unoriginal. That being said, I thought it was a terrible choice to give her “Landslide” as her bottom three song. First they say they want to see
