I love 30 Rock and all it’s random gloriousness, but I’m not surprised that next season will be it’s last. As funny as it is, it’s sort of become one of those shows where stuff just happens and the story doesn’t really go very far. Watching the finale didn’t make me cry either. In the finale, aptly named, “What Will Happen to the Gang Next Year?” Jack and Avery break up, Kenneth and Hazel get together, and Criss and Liz decide to have a baby together. I honestly have no idea how they’re gonna fit the baby into one final season. Liz is over 40 and the whole “Tina Fey gets a surrogate” thing has been done in Baby Mama. I predict they’ll adopt. The whole Jack and Liz relationship prediction is a crock, that would be totally gross. I also predict Paul and Jenna will get married next season, and maybe NBC will make a special night of it with Michael and Holly’s wedding. Wouldn’t that be something? I hope they keep Elizabeth Banks and Michael Mosley next season, especially now that Pan Am is done for. It won’t be Mosley’s big break, but I really like the guy. I could do without Mary Steenburgen next season though. I think Jack needs a love interest that comes with less baggage. Did anybody see a significance in the pink slip Jenna shows Kenneth? I really want his and Hazel’s relationship to last through next season too. Perhaps we’ll get a deeper look into Kenneth’s back woods religion with a wedding. We can only hope. This is definitely a sinking ship, but I’ve loved every minute and I’ll go down with it.
