You know how they say “If you want to know if your man will treat you right, look at how he treats his mother”?Well, if your man happens to be married to another woman, you should probably look at how he treats his wife too. Even though I love Olivia and I know she loves Fitz, I really just hate him. I don’t care if Mellie is a total psychopath with an idiotic name, not only did he betray the sacred bonds of marriage (and America’s trust, but is it really their business?) by having an affair, but he was

I apologize in advance for fangirling all over everything Shonda Rhimes touches, but if my cheerleaderism nauseates you, then you probably want to stop reading right now. Where do I even start with this premiere? She’s done it again! Was I the only one who spent the entire episode waiting for someone to say, ‘Just kidding, this isn’t actually what happened’? I mean, she started the hour with Rilo Kiley’s ‘Portions for Foxes’ playing in the background, which would typically be fake-out clue #1. Fake-out clue #2 would have been reassigning nicknames for Meredith and Bailey. Not only did the

I know I shouldn’t get hooked on this show because it’ll probably get cancelled faster than you can say Off The Map, but I blame it on a very common disorder known as FNL Tunnel Vision. Symptoms include hallucinations of Landry Clark whenever a fair skinned actor enters a scene (Ben Marten aka The Groom), manifesting story lines onto others (Of course Brett isn’t close with his family, his father is in the army and his mother left him to live with his grandmother when he was young), and always preferring Zach Gilford’s character over any other seemingly viable male

If you love good, honest drama and you’re not already watching Parenthood, you should be ashamed of yourself. And if you have an obsessive compulsive need to start a new series from the very beginning, the first three seasons are on Netflix. There’s no excuse not to tune in! The main story line viewers are obviously focused on is Christina’s first steps toward fighting breast cancer, but what I loved about this episode is how it created such an emotional network with otherwise uninvolved characters. Surprisingly, my favorite tearjerker scene this week was when Adam tells Amber that “Christina is

I have to point out how creeped out I get when I see film actors star in new TV shows. Yes, Ashley Judd, I’m talking to you. However, I really enjoyed the series premiere of Vegas. I went into it with very low expectations. First of all, I don’t watch much of anything on CBS, though How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory are two of my favorite comedies. I don’t watch a ton of drama either, and most one-hour series I do follow feature an awesome female lead. Something just told me that I had to

The season begins at the Farhampton train station on a rainy night, where an old lady approaches to find Ted dressed in a tuxedo reading a book. When she sits next to him and asks if he was just at a wedding, he starts to tell her that he “doesn’t want to talk about it“, but then proceeds to tell her the story. It’s all very Forrest Gump, and classic Ted. He starts the story where he left off last season, standing in front of Robin on her wedding day. When Robin asks if Barney is OK, we flash to

Romance. We hear about it all the time, find it everywhere in the media, and are constantly told that we can obtain it. If you think about it, we’ve been exposed to the notice of “the perfect romance” for the entirety of our lives. We’re told love can complete us. The Mindy Project is basically one woman’s answer as to what happens when the sweet love that every single romantic movie, book and TV show tells women they will have falls apart, and what the heck happens after that. Mindy Lahiri, in brief flashbacks, talks about how she was raised

It’s that time of the year again. When you can feel premiere season in the air, and you know that it means only one thing; your favorite television show is about to come back with all new episodes. Once Upon a Time, last season’s hit drama from ABC, premiered its pilot in October of last year, and now it’s returning for its sophomore season. Created by the genius LOST writers, Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, Once Upon a Time centers on six primary characters and a wonderful ensemble to follow. Through a series of flashbacks and modern time scenes, viewers

I don’t have much to say about this week’s new episode, and that could be good or bad. It’s good, because I still like it better than The New Normal, for which I have a ton of criticisms, but also bad because I feel like this show is running out of steam. I liked the overall theme of ‘outpouring’ this week, with the unwanted emotional spectacle on Miguel and Steven’s behalf, then Ryan’s appreciation when the group comes through for him, followed by everyone else. However, we didn’t get to know any more characters very intimately. I guess you could

Watching this episode was like watching a 30-minute version of Crash that tries to be comedic and fails. First we have the guy at the outlet mall bashing Bryan and David, then the guy at the gym bashing the disabled guy. Then the disabled guy calls David the f-word (incredibly unbelievable gay-dar by the way), then David cries to Bryan and Goldie about the guy’s use of the r-word before calling him a ‘retard’ himself. I get that they’re trying to take an issue and turn it on it’s ear, but I found it incredibly offensive. The terms ‘handicapped’ and

Jason Katims, you’ve done it again. Even after the premiere last week, I didn’t think that this season of Parenthood would be that meaningful, especially since we spent the first two seasons just falling in love with the Bravermans without anything too emotional taking place. Then Julia’s adoption crisis came in season three, and season four is just one thing after another. I swear, every episode this season has been like the series finale of Friday Night Lights: You don’t need words to make me cry. I suppose viewers who have no idea what a mammogram entails may have been

Am I the only one who notices the overuse of a particular sound effect? Leave the animal hospital where you do shady backdoor deals for the mob: Tires squeal. Pull up to the garage where your greasy mob boss spends his time: Tires squeal. Leave said garage: Tires squeal. Walk into the hospital parking lot: Tires squeal. Mob spy leaves his hiding spot to follow you: Tires squeal. Ram your SUV into said mob boss’ flash car: Tires squeal. OK, so that one was legit, but enough already! That and the theme of Grace always fleeing the scene was just
